How You Will Make an Impact:
As a Yard Hostler, you will inspect trailers and complete their pre-trips to ensure they meet DOT compliance. You will also move and hook up trailers as needed during the daily hustle along with communicating all trailer moves and trailer numbers with ops management. This role is a part of the Last Mile and Logistics department, and will cross train and assist Last Mile and Loadout when deemed necessary. This could require independent work and travel on a Last Mile wellsite on occasion.
Responsibilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
Ability to work at a consistent rate performing highly physical work.
Ability to work and make yard moves with the big picture in mind (yard awareness)
Responsible for moving loaded and unloaded trailers in the yard
Loading sand into trailers using portable conveyor system
Weighing trailers using a drive over scale
Hooking up trailers in single, double and triple configurations
Printing BOL’s
Tracking paperwork for inbound and outbound trucks
Assist with trailer inspections
Abide by and enforce the policies and procedures of FFE
Timely and efficient completion of tasks and responsibilities
Promote teamwork and cooperative effort
Works wells independently
Maintaining the organization of the depot.
Operating the yard mule
Ability to travel in the Permian and work a Last Mile wellsite when needed
Strong understanding of BOL processes and all Last Mile and logistics applications
Strong communication
Ability to cross train Loadout and obtain MSHA requirements
Basic understanding of planning trucking routes
Minimum Requirements:
The ability to read and understand English and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
High school Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both.
Candidates must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings and background check
Must be able to provide valid driver's license and clean MVR
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
Required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, sit and climb or balance
Must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Capable of working a rotating shift; 14 days on, 7 days off. You will rotate between days and nights and work 12 1/2 hour shifts
Room and board provided at or near the location of the job
Must be able to tolerate working conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat
