Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN)

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate nursing care as directed by an RN on the nursing unit.
• Gather and report data, carry out orders, and perform therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population‑appropriate manner consistent with policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Training

• Hold current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates.
• Current BLS certification required (must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment).
• Current IV certification within 90 days of employment, if required per state regulations.

Experience

One year of inpatient medical‑surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
