Job Title:

Automotive "B" Technician / Mechanic

Location:

205 Stella St, Argyle, TX 76226, USA

Job Overview:

We are looking for technicians who are energetic, upbeat, and have a positive attitude. The technicians we are looking for must seek out solutions to tough problems and have a strong passion for doing what's right for our guests.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Perform repairs with minimal supervision.

Accurately inspect vehicles and document findings.

Complete repairs efficiently while meeting flat-rate expectations.

Follow OEM repair procedures and shop processes.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Diagnostics

Perform basic to intermediate drivability diagnostics.

Retrieve and interpret OBD-II diagnostic trouble codes.

Use scan tools for data stream analysis.

Perform voltage drop, resistance, and continuity testing.

Diagnose basic charging and starting system failures.

Diagnose battery drain concerns.

Perform basic CAN bus testing.

Identify whether repairs require A-Level diagnostic assistance.

Engine

Tune-ups (spark plugs, ignition coils, filters).

Valve cover gasket replacement.

Intake manifold gasket replacement.

Water pump replacement.

Thermostat replacement.

Timing belt replacement (if experienced).

Oil leak diagnosis and repair.

Cooling system repairs.

Accessory drive belt replacement.

Fuel injector replacement.

Fuel pump replacement.

Intake and exhaust repairs.

Motor mount replacement.

Transmission & Drivetrain

Transmission service.

Transfer case service.

Differential service.

CV axle replacement.

Wheel bearing replacement.

U-joint replacement.

Driveshaft replacement.

Basic transmission diagnosis.

Clutch replacement (manual transmissions).

Suspension & Steering

Ball joints.

Tie rod ends.

Control arms.

Struts and shocks.

Sway bar links.

Steering rack replacement.

Wheel hub assemblies.

Perform alignment inspections.

Identify alignment corrections needed.

Brake System

Pads and rotors.

Brake calipers.

Master cylinders.

Brake hoses.

Wheel cylinders.

ABS sensor replacement.

Brake fluid flushes.

Basic ABS diagnosis.

HVAC

Compressor replacement.

Condenser replacement.

Evaporator replacement (depending on experience).

Expansion valve/orifice tube.

Heater core replacement.

Blend door actuator replacement.

Evacuate and recharge A/C systems.

Diagnose common HVAC concerns.

Electrical

Alternator replacement.

Starter replacement.

Battery replacement.

Wiring repair.

Connector repair.

Switch replacement.

Window regulators.

Door lock actuators.

Lighting repairs.

Fuse and relay diagnosis.

Maintenance Services

Oil changes.

Transmission flushes.

Coolant flushes.

Brake fluid flushes.

Differential services.

Transfer case services.

Fuel induction services.

Spark plug services.

Belt and hose inspections.

Battery testing.

Tool & Equipment Usage

Professional scan tool.

Digital multimeter.

Lab scope (basic understanding).

Battery/charging tester.

Brake lathe (if used).

A/C recovery machine.

Torque wrench.

Cooling system pressure tester.

Vacuum tester.

Smoke machine (basic use).

Customer Communication

Write accurate technician notes.

Document recommended repairs with supporting evidence.

Take photos/videos when appropriate.

Explain repair findings to service advisors if needed.

Productivity Expectations

Consistently produce 35–50 flagged hours per week (depending on shop workload and repair mix).

Maintain a low comeback rate.

Demonstrate good time management.

Complete repairs right the first time.

Professional Expectations

ASE certifications (or actively pursuing them).

Reliable attendance.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Works well with advisors and fellow technicians.

Willing to mentor C-Level technicians when appropriate.

Follows all safety procedures.

Qualifications:

Positive attitude and a desire to serve guests

3+ years of experience as an automotive technician/mechanic

State Inspectors license a plus

ASE Certifications preferred, or a plan to achieve (we will help you with this)

Meet or exceed hourly goals

Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes

Professional appearance and strong communication

A desire for long-term career development

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds

Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head

Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair

Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools

Walk/stand for the majority of the workday

Drive manual transmission vehicles

Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment

Efficiently navigate a computer
