We have various openings across three Seattle locations, and while each role has specific duties, all team members are expected to uphold high safety and performance standards. Key Responsibilities
Order Fulfillment & Packing
- Accurately process and assemble daily orders for chefs, restaurants, and consumers by utilizing digital scanners or pick tickets to ensure precise quantities and weights.
- Ensure all items are packed securely according to shipping requirements, protecting fragile goods like berries and micro‑greens to help guarantee products arrive in perfect condition.
Receiving & Inspection
- Verify that incoming deliveries match purchase orders, invoices, and manifests for total accuracy.
- Maintain high quality standards by inspecting all incoming and outgoing ingredients to ensure they are fresh and in pristine condition.
- Identify and reject subpar, damaged, or incorrectly priced items to help maintain accurate inventory records.
- Help uphold food safety and HACCP standards by verifying that refrigerated transport vehicles maintain appropriate temperatures.
Inventory & Storage Management
- Organize and transport incoming food supplies and equipment into designated dry storage, freezers, or walk‑in coolers to ensure an efficient workspace.
- Enforce FIFO stock rotation methods to help reduce food waste and ensure ingredients remain at peak freshness for the team.
- Maintain clean and organized storage areas by ensuring all items are properly labeled and stored off the floor.
- Assist leadership with routine stock audits and physical inventory counts.
Shipping & Outbound Logistics
- Label, log, and package outbound food products or equipment for distribution.
- Coordinate with couriers and delivery drivers to help ensure all shipments depart on schedule.
Kitchen Stewardship & Cleanliness
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and utilize the 3‑compartment sink method to sanitize pots, pans, and glassware, helping to maintain a steady supply of clean tools for the kitchen.
- Keep the facility immaculate by sweeping floors, wiping prep surfaces, and cleaning baseboards to support a safe and hygienic environment.
- Manage waste, recycling, and composting by emptying shared stations throughout the facility to help the company remain compliant with local Seattle environmental regulations.
Safety & Regulations
- Adhere to all FDA, OSHA, and local health department guidelines to help maintain a safe and compliant food‑handling environment.
- Monitor and record daily temperatures for all freezers and walk‑in units.
- Provide essential kitchen support as directed by management to help the entire team operate smoothly.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, commercial kitchen, or high‑volume fulfillment center is preferred but not required.
- Must possess or obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within 14 days of starting.
- A foundational knowledge of culinary ingredients, meat cuts, and produce is a significant advantage.
- Comfortable operating digital inventory systems, RF scanners, and computers.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude to help the team succeed.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to manage time effectively during peak periods.
- Capable of maintaining speed and accuracy in a fast‑paced environment.
- Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and nights as required.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Must be comfortable working in a refrigerated warehouse environment and prepared to wear appropriate layers.
- Ability to work in hot, humid, and noisy kitchen conditions during stewarding tasks.
- Stamina to stand and walk for 8–10 hour shifts while performing repetitive motions like bending or reaching.
- Ability to consistently lift and carry crates or boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to push or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to safely handle hot water and industrial cleaning chemicals.
