Sales Manager – Textiles

DyStar is seeking a highly skilled Sales Manager based in the United States with deep expertise in the US/Canada textiles business segment. The ideal candidate will have prior sales experience managing key textile manufacturers across the U.S., with experience creating new business opportunities to generate sustainable profitable business. This is a critical position responsible for leading the US/Canada sales team.

Purpose of Job:

  • Deliver the sales annual sales budget for the DyStar USA/Canada Textiles business segment of double-digit Mio USD revenues.
  • Lead key account management in USA/Canada by creating new business opportunities to generate sustainable profitable business.
  • Lead USA/Canada Sales operations by assessing sales team, planning for succession, and recruiting new sales team members

Responsibilities and Business Decisions:

  • Manage own key accounts and translate market opportunities and business strategy into customer project targets and manage through use of latest CRM tools to grow business.
  • Visit key customers with the sales team to build and develop customer relationships as platform for sustainable business and growth
  • Conduct monthly Sales MOS meetings and conduct at least bi-weekly calls with Sales Reps to follow-up New Business Opportunities.
  • Work with Business Management, Global Product Management and Business Development to enhance product/market selling tools.
  • Define Lab support needs to target growth in the sales area and define technical support needs with the local, regional and global BD Team to develop business at selected key accounts
  • Provide frontline price guidance to Sales Team with support of Business Management.
  • Management and optimization of sales and distribution channels (dealers, agents etc.).
  • Manage receivables of sales area in line with the business strategy and targets given.
  • Define and support hiring of new key account managers (Retirement, replacement)

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

Required Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS in Chemistry, Textile Chemistry or related field. MBA or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of selling experience in the chemical and/or textile industry required.
  • Minimum 5 years managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Sales and Marketing Managerial experience or related training.
  • Computer, financial, manufacturing, and marketing related training or experience desired. Must have organization, planning, decision making, problem-solving and product management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills necessary.
  • Understands profitability and business analysis, reporting, and controlling.
  • Results oriented, self-starter who works well independently and understands expectations, traveling s required to meet Key Accounts and drive the sales team to achieve the targets
  • Role requires competencies including business acumen, problem solving, dealing with ambiguity, customer focus, composure, organizational agility, rapport building, etc.

This is preferably an on-site role in Charlotte, NC; however, remote work may be considered.
