The assistant coach provides support to the head coach in all aspects of the track and field program. Coach and mentor student-athletes in support of their growth as a student-athlete and member of the Middlebury College community.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $41,409 - $46,585. This is a term position with an anticipated term length of August 31, 2026 to June 13, 2027.
Core Responsibilities:
Coach the technical and tactical aspects of the sport in practices and competitions, with a focus on a specific discipline (e.g. Throws, Jumps, Sprints, Hurdles)
Recruit prospective student-athletes within the rules and regulations of Middlebury, NESCAC, and the NCAA.
Assist the head coach in preparing for daily practice including but not limited to developing daily practice plans.
Mentor and provide support for student-athletes in support of their development in the sport as well as in their academics and personal development.
Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach or Director of Athletics in support of the program or department. This may include event management, strength and conditioning or teaching required classes in Physical Education.
