JOB SUMMARY

The Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center is a nationally recognized leader in the comprehensive management of neurological conditions. UT Southwestern is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's top 10 hospitals for neurology and neurosurgery. Our vibrant department comprises 145 full-time faculty in 12 specialized sections, supporting a spectrum of complex and innovative approaches to neurological care, a broad range of novel research programs as well as extensive educational opportunities for trainees. The department offers access to the latest innovative treatments in one of the most rapidly advancing fields of medicine. Through collaborations with the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute, the department is building state-of-the art facilities for drug and device testing and bringing current and new faculty together for collaborative research on brain disease therapy. The IMAGINe Lab (Informatics for Multidisciplinary Advancement, Guidance, and Innovation in Neuroscience) specializes in clinical and research informatics with a mission to advance brain health research and care using biomedical and electronic health record (EHR) data through development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical applications of biomedical informatics methods. The IMAGINe Lab functions at the interface of the O’Donnell Brain Institute, the Department of Neurology Biostatistics and Clinical Informatics Section, and the UT Southwestern Clinical Informatics Center, which is a dynamic interdisciplinary community of physicians, scientists, students, researchers, and developers whose goal is to leverage the knowledge from research and experience in biomedical informatics, data sciences, social sciences, clinical sciences and other domains for the generation of knowledge and informatics-based products or services to improve quality and safety, the efficiency of patient care, and the health of people in general.

We are looking for a motivated Informatics Program Manager to join our interdisciplinary team for an exciting opportunity managing a portfolio of clinical and research informatics projects leveraging electronic health record data and multimodal research data to support clinical care and research in the neurosciences.

Position Summary & Preferred qualifications/experience:

A multi-year Informatics Program Manager (IPM) position is available in the Department of Neurology and the Clinical Informatics Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Working independently under the Principal Investigator, the IPM will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and directing a portfolio of clinical and research informatics projects for the Department of Neurology and O’Donnell Brain Institute. The IPM must be able to work in a multidisciplinary clinical team, display a high degree of initiative, and have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.

This position involves research and administrative tasks working with the Primary Investigators to support the compliance, financial, personnel, and other related aspects of the informatics research studies and projects.

The IPM will participate in all phases of clinical informatics research projects, from study design to analysis and writing manuscripts for submission to academic journals. They will work closely with research participants and with other research team members, including data scientists, informaticists, electronic health record analysts, members of collaborating research groups, research coordinators, fellow staff in the Clinical Informatics Center, and study physicians.
