Work Hours
PRN/Optional - PRN requirements are 40 hours in a 6‑month period, 1 holiday within 12 months.
Day Shift
No Weekend or On Call Commitment
Incentives
This role offers competitive shift differentials, with the opportunity to earn up to an additional $7 per hour based on shift, hours worked, and organizational guidelines.
Minimum Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
1‑2 years of experience in Phlebotomy (Preferred)
Phlebotomy trained upon hire (Preferred)
Job Overview
This position serves as a liaison for an extensive variety of laboratory customers. It procures quality specimens from adult, geriatric, pediatric and infant patients for diagnostic testing according to CLIA, TJC and CAP guidelines and may perform EKGs on outpatients. The role makes and receives telephone calls to/from customers, gathers data required for service and billing, answers questions and resolves issues. It also completes documentation to meet OIG compliance guidelines including accurate interpretation and transcription of physician orders and LIS/HIS order entry. The position may receive incoming specimens, enter patient demographics and test orders using LIS/HIS systems, label specimens, and distribute them to the proper laboratory departments for testing.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure specimen integrity by obtaining patient identification, accurate data, collection and specimen collection.
Document all information as required in expected timeframes.
Understand the importance of accuracy in all steps of the collection process and complete all work accurately and timely.
Takes on complex tasks when asked and takes initiative to complete tasks when needed.
Complete work following processes and protocols for safety, confidentiality, and sample integrity.
