Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Inspector ensures that incoming materials and in-process parts meet design, regulatory, and internal quality standards. This role follows established quality system procedures, maintains accurate inspection records, and supports manufacturing by identifying and resolving quality issues. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret technical data, and effective communication with internal teams and external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials to verify compliance with design specifications and applicable regulatory standards.
- Perform in-process inspections on machined parts to ensure conformity to drawings, GD&T requirements, and product specifications.
- Confirm that operators and machinists perform proper self-checking and follow established quality procedures.
- Follow quality system procedures consistently and maintain complete, accurate inspection records.
- Read and interpret design data, blueprints, GD&T callouts, and product specifications to determine inspection criteria.
- Review supplier data and documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements.
- Operate and maintain measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Optionally operate and use CMM equipment to perform advanced dimensional inspections.
- Calibrate test and measurement equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
- Use ERP systems and office machines to record inspection results, track materials, and support documentation needs.
- Maintain proficiency with MS Office to create and update reports, logs, and quality documentation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English with internal teams and vendors regarding quality issues, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
- Work independently to plan and complete inspection tasks within set timelines and production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with company standards and safety practices.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support manufacturing, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and quality system requirements at all times.
Essential Skills
- 3–5 years of quality or inspection experience in a machine shop environment preferred.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design data, GD&T, and detailed product specifications.
- Experience performing inspections on machined components and manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of quality system procedures and inspection documentation practices.
- Ability to operate and, where applicable, maintain measurement equipment and basic shop tools.
- Effective communication skills in English for interaction with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete tasks within defined timelines.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications for documentation and reporting.
- Ability to use ERP systems and office machines in support of quality and production activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CNC operating and familiarity with machining processes.
- Hands-on experience with grinding operations and related inspection requirements.
- Knowledge and practical application of GD&T in a precision machining environment.
- Optional experience with CMM equipment for advanced dimensional inspection.
- supporting continuous improvement initiatives and resolving quality issues.
- Comfort working in warehouse, office, and controlled environments as needed for inspection tasks.

Work Environment
You will work in a well-lit, climate-controlled shop that includes a mix of older and newer machines, as well as warehouse, office, and controlled environments. The facility is air-conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter to maintain comfortable working conditions.
