Who You Are
As a Senior Claims Manager of Workers Comp (WC), you will work collaboratively within Justworks’ Workers Compensation Team as well as cross-functionally with teams across Justworks including: Customer Success, Technology, Engineering Product, Accounting, Business Intelligence, Onboarding, Legal, and Finance. You will carry your own caseload of complex and/or high exposure claims while providing day to day guidance and oversight to a small claims team. Operating within our PEO environment, you will serve as the first point of contact for escalations for the claims team, be a trusted resource for customer facing claim inquiries and a key contributor to process improvement initiatives.

Your Success Profile
What You Will Work On
Supervise and support a small claims team providing daily direction, workload oversight and performance coaching.
Manage your own active caseload of complex, litigated, and high-severity claims from First Notice of Loss through closure.
Review coverage decisions, reserves and settlement recommendations to ensure accuracy, consistency and alignment with company guidelines.
Serve as the primary escalation point for difficult claims, coverage disputes, or customer concerns that exceed team members authority levels.
Conduct regular file audits and quality reviews, delivering constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance.
Coordinate with TPAs, carriers, defense counsel, medical providers, and nurse case managers to drive timely, cost-effective claim resolutions.
Onboard and train new claims staff, ensuring familiarity with PEO workflows, customer structures, and state-specific compliance requirements.
Maintain current knowledge of WC statutes, filing requirements, and best practices across all jurisdictions in the company's footprint.
Assist the Claims Director with reporting, loss trend analysis, and identifying process improvement opportunities.
