We are seeking a skilled and versatile Commercial Maintenance Field Tech with a strong background in carpentry and painting to oversee the upkeep of the Cutler properties and lead special projects across Worcester, Westborough, and Shrewsbury.

In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of facility maintenance tasks—from rough and finish carpentry and structural repairs to meticulous surface preparation and high-quality painted finishes. Carpentry Duties
- Install and Repair: Construct, install and repair structures and fixtures such as drywall, cabinets, countertops, doors, windows, molding, and trim
- Framing and Structural: Perform light framing and structural repairs as needed.
- Blueprint reading: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layouts and determine dimensions.
- Tool Proficiency: Safely operate standard carpentry tools
Painting & Finishing Duties
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces thoroughly by scraping, sanding, patching holes, caulking, and removing old paint or wallpaper.
- Application: Apply primers, paints, stains, and varnishes to various surfaces (wood, metal, drywall, plaster) using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Color Matching: Mix and match paints and stains to match existing finishes or meet specific design requirements.
- Protection: Set up drop cloths, masking tape, and plastic sheeting to protect flooring, furniture, and fixtures from splatter.
General Facilities & Maintenance
- Inspect & Maintain: Perform regular walk-throughs to inspect building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting; replace filters, light bulbs, and ballasts as needed.
- Upkeep: Conduct routine preventative maintenance on facility equipment and machinery to ensure peak operational efficiency and prolong equipment life.
- Exterior Care: Oversee or assist with outdoor maintenance, including basic landscaping, walkway clearance, trash removal, and seasonal snow/ice removal.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience & Knowledge: Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, tools, equipment, materials, and methods used in building maintenance and facilities trades.
- Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently, manage your own daily tasks, and solve problems without close supervision.
- Physical Capabilities: Must be able to comfortably lift up to 40 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical labor standard to facility maintenance.
- Licenses & Transport: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Access to reliable personal transportation.
- Must hold a valid DOT Card, or possess the ability to successfully obtain one upon hire.

Schedule & Location Requirements
- Commute: Must be able to reliably commute to our facilities throughout Worcester County daily.
- License/Certification: A valid Driver’s License is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
