Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) to join a fast-paced Medical‑Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will provide high‑quality patient care, collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, and support patients with a variety of medical conditions. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive team environment while caring for diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and within scope of practice.
- Assist with wound care, Foley catheter management, and central line care.
- Support patients with cardiac, renal, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, diabetic, and post‑transplant conditions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.
Unit Highlights
- 30‑bed Medical‑Surgical unit.
- Typical patient ratio of 1:6.
- Supportive interdisciplinary team environment.
- Modern patient care equipment including feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound VACs, PCA pumps, oxygen therapy equipment, and patient lift devices.
Requirements
- Active LVN/LPN license in good standing.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical‑Surgical experience.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification.
- IV therapy skills and experience.
- Experience with orthopedic and renal transplant patients.
- Knowledge of central line and Foley catheter management.
- Experience caring for cardiac, dialysis, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and diabetic patients.
