Job Summary
We are looking for a knowledgeable, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Licensed Optician to join our team. In this role, you will help patients find the perfect eyewear solutions while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about eye care, enjoys working with people, and has a strong understanding of optical products, lens technologies, and frame styling.
You will work closely with patients, optometrists, and other team members to ensure every customer receives personalized attention and high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear that best suits their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.
- Accurately measure, fit, and adjust eyeglasses to ensure comfort and optimal vision.
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, contact lenses, and proper eyewear care.
- Process and verify prescriptions while maintaining accurate patient records.
- Handle insurance verification and documentation while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to provide outstanding patient care.
- Manage and maintain inventory of frames, lenses, and optical accessories.
- Stay current on industry trends, lens technologies, and luxury eyewear brands.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing patient questions and resolving concerns professionally.
- Support daily retail operations and contribute to achieving sales goals.
QualificationsRequired
- Valid Florida Licensed Optician License.
- Previous experience working in an optical retail or clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of optical products, lens materials, and frame fitting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic.
- Knowledge of vision insurance plans and billing procedures.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Luxury eyewear sales experience.
- Retail management or supervisory experience.
