Position: Receptionist (Medical/Dental)
Position Summary
Full‑time Receptionist (Medical/Dental) – mandatory COVID‑19 and flu vaccination required. Hourly rate: $19.25 to $19.97, effective 1/1/2024.
Location:
Salmon Creek – Vancouver Medical/Dental Clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and healthy workplace and patient area.
- Perform all daily front‑desk activities to completion.
- Answer telephone calls and assist callers.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments according to the Front Desk Manual.
- Maintain an average daily registration schedule of 21 patients per MD provider, 18 patients per ARNP/PA provider, or 70 phone calls, depending on role.
- Assist the medical/dental records department by scanning documents, queuing/indexing, sorting, filing, and pulling charts as needed.
- Distribute and screen all incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain a 100% collection rate by collecting patient account payments and balances.
- Help patients fill out registration forms.
- Assist all patients in accessing health‑care services.
- Inform patients about other health centers and community services.
- Accurately enter patient demographic information into the practice management system.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Work with the back office to address Clinical Quality Measure gaps.
- Collaborate as a team to complete tasks and assist colleagues as needed.
Productivity and Quality Expectations
- Welcome each patient with a smile and offer assistance.
- If on a call during a patient arrival, inform the patient you will be with them momentarily.
- Address patients by last name.
- Answer each call within three rings.
- Answer calls with: “Good morning (afternoon), Sea Mar Community Health Centers, this is _______, how may I direct your call?” and keep hold time under two minutes.
Personnel and Performance Metrics
- Adhere to schedule and be ready to provide services by 8 am each day.
- Use AIDET skills when serving patients.
- Close quality care gaps for 100 % of patients treated.
- Serve a minimum of ten patients a day.
- Support Follow My Health enrollment.
- Close chart notes within 24 hours of service.
- Maintain an average of 21 patient visits a day per MD provider and 18 visits per ARNP/PA provider.
Education and Requirements
- Minimum one‑year experience in a medical setting.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and computer/typing skills required.
- Excellent verbal, customer‑service, and written communication skills required.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Language Preference
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Russian preferred, but not required.
