Location: 3425 S Clarkson St, Englewood, CO 80113 (Denver)
Shift: Days; 0630–1900 (6:30 am - 7:00 pm MST); Full-time opportunity for 3 days/week, 12-hour shifts (.9 FTE, 72 hours per pay period)
Compensation: $20.56/ hour — $29.61/hour; plus applicable shift differentials for evenings and weekends

Join our specialized neuro-rehabilitation units, 3 West and 3 East, where you will make a profound impact on the lives of patients recovering from brain injuries. As a vital member of our team, you will care for patients with paraplegia, tetraplegia, traumatic brain injuries, and other complex neurological conditions in an environment dedicated to restoring hope and independence.
At Craig Hospital, exceptional care goes beyond clinical expertise—it’s built on compassion, consistency, and teamwork. We are seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Technician I / Behavioral Attendant (Rehab Tech I / BA) to join our patient care team. This role, commonly known in the healthcare industry as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), works side-by-side with nursing staff, therapists, and physicians to support individuals recovering primarily from brain injuries (BI) and some Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI), and other complex neurological conditions.
As a vital member of the care team, you’ll help maintain a safe, supportive, and healing environment while assisting patients with daily living tasks, reinforcing therapeutic goals, and providing meaningful engagement throughout the rehabilitation process. West: the primary patient diagnosis is brain injury, including both traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury (26 Beds)
- This includes patients with traumatic injury such as closed (blunt force or acceleration-deceleration) injuries and penetrating injuries (such as bullets), as well as individuals who have experienced stroke or lack of oxygen to the brain (anoxic injury).
- High-Acuity Skills: Gain expert experience in complex wound care, autonomic regulation, neurogenic bowel and bladder management, and advanced respiratory care (ventilators and tracheostomies).
3 East: Brain Injury (BI) Specialties (17 Beds)
- Primary Population: Care for brain injury patients alongside a consistent population of spinal cord injury (SCI) patients.
- Dynamic Environment: Serve as a vital overflow unit addressing exceptionally high regional spinal cord injury referrals.
- Expanded Skill Set: Develop a unique, dual-specialty clinical toolkit by mastering both complex SCI protocols and specialized brain injury cognitive and physical rehabilitation strategies.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Licensure & Certification
- Colorado Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CNA Certification from an accredited program required
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of caregiver or direct patient care experience preferred
- Experience with individuals with SCI, TBI, or behavioral/mental health needs strongly preferred
Skills & Strengths
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to assist with multi-skilled direct patient care tasks delegated by the RN
- Understanding of patient safety principles, infection control, and trauma-informed care
- Motivated, flexible, and dependable with a positive and patient-centered attitude

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide personal care and physical assistance to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients under the supervision and direction of the RN
- Support patients with daily hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and dining activities, while promoting as much independence as possible
- Reinforce therapeutic activities by assisting with patient routines and instructing on self-care and instrumental daily living skills
- Document care provided and report changes in patient status to the RN in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist with specific nursing care tasks, including bowel and bladder programs, catheter management, and intake/output tracking
- Prepare patient rooms and maintain clean, well-stocked, and safe unit environments in alignment with infection prevention standards
- Transport patients to scheduled therapy sessions and ensure timely hand-offs between shifts
- Respect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA compliance in all interactions
- Mentor and support onboarding of new Rehab Techs or students as requested
