As a key part of our bakery operations, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, breads, and desserts that reflect the culinary standards and aesthetic of the Haraz brand. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing baked goods and other food - Follow recipes accurately to prepare and bake-off a variety of pastries, breads, sandwiches, and desserts from scratch daily, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
- Decorating – finishing baked goods with icing, glazes, and other decorations as needed.
- Following recipes - Ability to follow and execute written recipes as well as any verbal instructions.
- Time management - Ensure production schedules are met in a timely manner.
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment - mixers, ovens, proofers, sheeters, food processors, electric scales safely and efficiently.
- Inventory management - Accept and store deliveries as needed. Track inventory and alert the kitchen manager of low stock or needed supplies.
- Safety and hygiene - Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in the bakery always. Keep workstations clean and organized.
- Collaborating with team - Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, baristas, and front of house team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to opening, prep, and closing procedures.
What You Bring:
- 1–2 years of experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen preferred (culinary school is a plus).
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong understanding of baking techniques and pastry fundamentals.
- Must understand and closely follow all food safety guidelines as directed by managers.(Servsafe Food Handler certification preferred)
- Knowledge or interest in Yemeni coffee and Middle Eastern flavors is valued.
- Ability to follow and scale recipes with precision.
- Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a collaborative spirit.
