Self Perform Concrete Carpenter

The Role

This is a traveling Concrete Carpenter position with a self-performing commercial general contractor building multifamily student housing across the Southeast. You'll be responsible for erecting and stripping formwork, cutting and shaping structures, and placing and floating concrete, working closely with the concrete crew from footings through finish with minimal supervision.

This is consistent, long-term work. You'll be placed on a project through completion with advance notice of your next move, a full travel package, and a team that holds a higher standard of professionalism than most.

Their crews own the concrete scope end-to-end, formwork, placement, finishing, and everything in between. They're adding 10 skilled Concrete Carpenters to their Southeast team as their project pipeline expands through Athens, Auburn, and Clemson. Key Responsibilities

Formwork & Carpentry

• Erect and install formwork from contract documents with minimal supervision
• Measure, mark, and arrange materials to establish a layout based on plans or the supervisor's direction
• Cut and shape structures, forms, and fixtures from wood to support concrete formwork installation
• Use hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects; join materials with appropriate fasteners and adhesives
• Strip formwork safely and in accordance with industry standards
• Check completed work with levels, surveying equipment, and framing squares; correct issues as needed
• Measure distances and perform calculations for cutting materials
• Adhere to all local building codes, safety regulations, and company procedures

Concrete & Site Support

• Place and float concrete materials in footings
• Rig and flag for crane hoists
• Operate tracked skid steer and forklift/lull as needed
• Complete tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Who We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of construction experience, with hands-on concrete carpentry or formwork
• Thorough understanding of carpentry principles, methods, and concrete forming systems
• Ability to operate a tracked skid steer and forklift/lull
• Flagging and rigging certification preferred
• Able to read plans and work from contract documents independently
• Willing and able to travel. Hotel-based work weeks are part of the role, so you should be comfortable spending extended periods away from home.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a significant plus

Skills & Physical Requirements:

• Strong math skills, able to solve calculations quickly and accurately in the field
• Able to properly care for and use tools of the trade
• Daily attendance and punctuality are non-negotiable on this crew
• Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs. regularly
• Able to stand, kneel, crouch, push, pull, drive, and work in all physical positions required on an active job site
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Personal Tools Required: Tool belt, hammer, tape measure, square, wire snips, pliers, 100ft measuring tape, chalk box, and string

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $25–$35/hour depending on experience
• Hotel accommodations and $55/day per diem when working 100+ miles from home address
• Travel time paid, including Sunday night drive time to the job site
• Benefits eligible after 60 days of employment
• Bonus program launching in 2027
