Purpose

Wild Card is seeking a freelance Sr. Social Media Manager, Entertainment to join our growing Social Entertainment team.

This role is equal parts community manager, strategist, trend spotter, and client partner. You'll be responsible for helping manage day-to-day social activations across entertainment clients, including editorial planning, content publishing, community engagement, social listening, reporting, and reactive content opportunities.

The ideal candidate is deeply immersed in internet culture, understands fandom behavior, and knows how to translate audience insights into meaningful social engagement. They are highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable working across multiple fast-moving campaigns simultaneously.

Job Responsibilities

Social Publishing Community Management

Manage day-to-day publishing across social platforms including TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, and emerging platforms

Schedule, publish, and quality-check content to ensure proper formatting, tagging, accessibility, and platform optimization

Engage with fan communities in brand voice through comments, replies, and conversation management

Identify and escalate community issues, audience sentiment shifts, or potential reputation concerns

Editorial Content Planning

Support development and maintenance of editorial calendars across multiple entertainment clients

Partner with Creative, Strategy, Production, and Account teams to ensure content is delivered and published on schedule

Draft platform-specific copy, captions, and community responses

Assist in identifying tentpole moments, cultural opportunities, fandom conversations, and content opportunities

Social Listening Insights

Monitor audience conversations, entertainment news, fandom trends, and platform behavior

Surface actionable insights and reactive opportunities to internal teams and clients

Track campaign performance and audience engagement trends

Contribute to monthly reporting, campaign recaps, and strategic recommendations

Client Team Collaboration

Serve as a day-to-day social lead across assigned accounts

Participate in client meetings, status calls, and planning sessions

Collaborate closely with Account, Creative, Production, and Strategy teams

Help ensure social recommendations align with client goals, audience behavior, and platform best practices

Required Skills

4-6+ years of experience in social media, community management, entertainment marketing, or digital marketing working on entertainment streaming/theatrical campaigns

Experience managing social channels for entertainment brands and properties

Strong understanding of social platform best practices and emerging trends

Excellent copywriting and communication skills

Experience managing editorial calendars and publishing workflows

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to interpret performance data and translate findings into actionable recommendations

Pay Range

$40 $50 USD
