Job Summary

The Director of AI Solutions will lead the design, development and deployment of AI-driven capabilities within TDP as well as help in these efforts across TDP’s portfolio companies. This individual will bridge technology, business strategy and execution—partnering with the internal TDP team as well as portfolio company executive team members to identify high-impact opportunities and deliver scalable solutions that drive measurable value. This is a highly cross-functional role requiring both deep business transformation fluency combined with some technical fluency and client-facing leadership experience.

Job Responsibilities include:

AI Strategy Opportunity Identification

Partner with leadership teams to identify AI and data-driven value creation opportunities – executive’s initial focus will be on developing internal TDP AI-driven capabilities, followed by expanded work in assisting TDP portfolio company with AI topics and workflows

Translate business challenges into actionable technical roadmaps

Develop and prioritize use cases with clear ROI

Solution Architecture Delivery

Lead the design of scalable AI/data platforms (cloud, ML, GenAI)

Oversee end-to-end delivery from concept to production

Ensure solutions are pragmatic, maintainable, and aligned to business goals

Portfolio Engagement / Stakeholder Leadership

Act as a trusted advisor to the TDP team as well as portfolio company executives, operators and other stakeholders

Lead technology assessments and transformation initiatives

Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Project and Vendor Management

Lead cross‑functional teams and oversee end‑to‑end project delivery

Manage relationships with external vendors, partners and consultants to ensure alignment, quality and on‑time delivery

Provide technical direction, oversight and mentorship to internal teams

Product Platform Development

Support development of reusable AI accelerators and capabilities

Contribute to internal tooling, platforms, or GTM strategies

Drive standardization across portfolio use cases

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in: Technology consulting and business transformation, data/software engineering or machine learning

Experience delivering AI/ML or data platform solutions in production environments

Strong understanding of modern tech stack:

Cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP)

Data platforms (Databricks, Data Lakes, ETL pipelines)

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and client engagements

Excellent communication skills with executive presence

Located in (or ability to re-locate to) the greater Chicago area

Preferred Qualifications

Experience at top-tier consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG, Deloitte, etc.)

Exposure to private equity, portfolio operations or multi-site environments

Experience with GenAI / LLM applications

Background in product management or 0→1 builds

Compensation:

Highly competitive compensation consisting of base salary and performance bonus with opportunity for meaningful equity ownership over time.
