Role Description The Independent Delivery Driver role is a contract position based on-site in Malden, MA. The driver is responsible for picking up and delivering packages, medical specimens, documents, and other items to client locations in a timely and secure manner. Day-to-day tasks include planning routes, following delivery schedules, maintaining communication with dispatch, and accurately documenting pick-ups and drop-offs. The driver will follow safety protocols and handling procedures, particularly for healthcare and laboratory deliveries, and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements. The role also involves basic vehicle care, professional interaction with customers, and adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Strong driving and navigation skills, including familiarity with local and regional routes and the ability to use GPS or routing applications effectively.
  • Experience in delivery, courier, or logistics services, with the ability to manage multiple stops and time-sensitive schedules.
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn healthcare-related transportation protocols, including HIPAA, specimen handling, and safety procedures.
  • Reliable, well-maintained vehicle, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of required insurance.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail for accurate documentation and secure handling of shipments.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with clients and team members.
  • Capability to lift and carry packages within reasonable weight limits and work on feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently as a contractor, follow company policies, and adapt to changing routes and client needs.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including possible early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on delivery demand.
