Position: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in North Charleston, SC

Qualifications and Desired
Experience:
- Valid certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Knowledge of various communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL), oral approaches, and total communication
- Familiarity with instructional technology and assistive devices for students with hearing loss
- Aptitude for creating inclusive learning experiences
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in school settings is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored direct instruction aligned with each students Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Provide support and resources to fellow educators for effective inclusion strategies
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and related service professionals to foster holistic student growth
- Conduct assessments of students skills, progress, and needs as part of the IEP process
- Advocate for access to the curriculum and facilitate accommodations as needed
- Help ensure that classrooms and materials are accessible and conducive to learning
