Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand detailed architectural drawings, schematics, shop drawings and blueprints
  • Prepare and set up machines and tooling for woodwork manufacturing
  • Operate woodworking machines such as saws, milling and sanding machines, drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, planers, banders, glue machines, and wood‑fastening and adhesives
  • Skilled use of woodworking hand tools
  • Operate highly technical and advanced computerized numerical control (CNC) machines
  • Work with various woods, veneers, laminates, metals, adhesives
  • Wood finishing with painting, staining, and top coating
  • Skilled use of typical shop floor machines such as forklifts
  • Possess working knowledge of woodworking and general assembly techniques
  • Correctly perform all aspects of routine work, meeting quality standards and requirements
  • Must be able to achieve results in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with co‑workers, managers and others
  • Be able to share knowledge and ideas with others on the team
  • Perform activities that directly support team outcomes
  • Flexible in cross‑training
  • Perform duties based on instructions and past practices
  • Respond to direction in order to provide assistance to others
  • May require some follow‑up in new areas
  • Must be able to take responsibility for own contributions to team/unit goals
  • Maintain a safe, ergonomic work environment
  • Must be able to lift repetitively materials and/or parts weighing approximately 5‑10 pounds
