The work
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining a comprehensive DevSecOps pipeline that supports the SAP enterprise application environment. This role integrates modern DevOps practices, automation, and security tooling to streamline SAP development, enhance code quality, and strengthen release processes. The DevOps Engineer collaborates closely with SAP developers, functional consultants, architects, and security teams to drive continuous improvement, improve operational efficiency, and ensure a secure and scalable development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate build, test, and deployment processes
Integrate and manage toolchains including Jira, SAP Solution Manager (Solman) CHaRM, SonarQube, and Fortify DAST
Collaborate with SAP ABAP developers, functional teams, and security stakeholders to translate requirements into automated pipeline capabilities
Conduct analysis of alternative DevOps tools and recommend modern, open‑source solutions to enhance the pipeline
Create and maintain detailed documentation for pipeline configurations, architecture, and development team usage
Manage automated testing and security scanning workflows, ensuring code quality and security compliance
Provide strategic guidance on the evolution of the DevSecOps platform, including enhancements, scaling, and new tool integrations
Mentor and train team members on DevOps best practices and effective use of the pipeline
Here’s what you need:
5–7+ years of experience in a DevOps or related engineering role
Proven experience designing and managing complex CI/CD pipelines, preferably in GitLab
Hands‑on experience with Jira, SonarQube, Fortify (or similar SAST/DAST tools), and pipeline automation
Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and implementing security in automated pipelines
Experience integrating testing frameworks and automated security scanning
Strong documentation, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
Nice to have:
Experience working in SAP environments, including SAP transport management and Solman CHaRM
Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with SAP development lifecycles and ABAP development pipelines
Eligibility requirements:
US Citizenship required (no dual citizenship)
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland . The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
