Accounting Analyst

Summary

Whitecap Search is seeking a skilled finance professional to join our Fund Accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing financial operations within our organization. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on alternative asset management.

Function

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of fund accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review daily and monthly estimate and final fund NAVs.
• Prepare and review capital calls and distribution allocations.
• Assist in tracking investment costs and monitoring the fair value of investments.
• Prepare and oversee quarterly NAV and portfolio reconciliation processes; investigate and resolve discrepancies with internal operations teams.
• Calculate management fees, distributions, waterfall allocations, and IRR.
• Prepare and review fund forecasts, performance estimates, attributions, and other ad-hoc projects.
• Assist in the review of investor statements and internal reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors for the year-end audit process.
• Oversee and review the work of the offshore team.

Requirements

• BS (or above) in Accounting or Finance.
• 3 years of fund, audit, or administrator experience / 3 years of public or private accounting experience.
• Experience in private equity and/or hedge funds and/or audit preferred.
• Knowledge of SEC/relevant regulatory filings for investment funds preferred.
• Strong Excel skills.
