Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Caregiver to join our team in, IL. This vital role involves providing personalized care and support to individuals with diverse needs, promoting their independence, safety, and well-being. As a caregiver, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering attentive, respectful, and professional assistance in a variety of settings including assisted living facilities, memory care units, and community homes. This position offers flexible hours perfect for those passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives through hands-on caregiving.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as required
- Support residents with medication administration following care plans and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning resident rooms and common areas
- Observe and document patient behavior, cognitive status (including dementia or Alzheimer's care), and progress to inform ongoing care planning
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, or seniors in settings like nursing homes or assisted living communities is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication management, and vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with specialized care such as memory care, dementia support, hospice or home health services is advantageous
- Experience operating assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment is beneficial
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, patient safety standards, and basic first aid/CPR certification is required
- Background in providing compassionate home & community care or long-term care services supporting residents’ physical and emotional needs
