Role Description This full-time, on-site CNC Machinist – Setup role is located in Rancho Cordova, CA. The CNC Machinist – Setup is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, including loading programs, selecting tooling, setting offsets, and verifying first article parts. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints, preparing workpieces and fixtures, performing machining operations, and monitoring machines to ensure parts meet specifications. The role also involves performing in-process inspections, documenting measurements, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve machining issues. The CNC Machinist – Setup is expected to maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all company, safety, and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Ability to set up and operate CNC equipment, including strong Machine Operation and Machinery skills.
- Proficiency in Machining processes and Milling operations for precision metal components.
- Experience performing Quality Control checks, including using measurement tools and verifying tolerances.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions; strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience as a CNC machinist or setup person in a manufacturing environment, preferably defense or aerospace.
- Knowledge of safety standards and good housekeeping practices in a machine shop setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship training in machining is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
