Law Enforcement and Emergency ManagementJob Family DescriptionCoordinate the planning of, response to, and preparedness for emergency incidents and events at the University. Provide law enforcement, security and protection for the University community and property.

Common Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrate oral and written communication skills and able to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Possess professionalism and ability to work independently or in a team environment. Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and attention to detail. Adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency, unusual, or dangerous situations. Knowledge of or the ability to learn modern law enforcement techniques and procedures.

Job FunctionLaw EnforcementJob Function DescriptionProvides law enforcement, security, and protection for community and property as well as provide safety services to the university community and the university campus. Certified police officers, are empowered with full arrest and police authority statewide and civilian employees who also engage in support and administrative tasks such as report writing to assist sworn officers. Civilian employees may also complete in-service training to develop skills as future police officers.
