Position Overview
Davila Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Temporary Data Entry Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative operations. This is a temporary opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting, construction administration, and financial recordkeeping within a residential construction company.
This is a temporary position expected to last approximately six months to support increased business needs. The assignment may end earlier or be extended based on business requirements. The position is expected to average approximately 30 hours per week, although hours may vary based on business needs. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work additional or fewer hours as needed.
The ideal candidate will assist with maintaining organized financial records, entering transactions into QuickBooks, managing documentation, and providing general administrative support to help ensure accurate and efficient financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Data Entry Accounting Support
- Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks.
- Enter and categorize income, expenses, donations, sponsorships, and other financial transactions.
- Post credit card transactions and utility expenses.
- Organize, scan, and attach receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation to transactions.
- Assist with cleaning up and organizing existing QuickBooks records according to established accounting procedures.
- Track expenses by event, program, initiative, or department as needed.
- Help ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and up to date.
Administrative Support
- Maintain organized accounts payable files and financial records.
- Assist with document management, filing, scanning, and record retention.
- Provide general clerical and administrative support to leadership and the finance team.
- Support preparation of documentation needed for audits, grant applications, reporting, and organizational compliance.
- Handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable learning new software and processes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information.
- Previous administrative, bookkeeping, or accounting experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with QuickBooks is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
