Position: Commercial HVAC Technician

Location: Baltimore, MD

Pay Rate Range: $25–$30/hour

We are expanding our maintenance team at a commercial laundry facility and invite you to apply to be part of important work supporting the healthcare community. Job Summary:

We are seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician for the 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM shift. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting boilers, compressors, HVAC systems, and production equipment. The candidate will also assist with general mechanical work when machines are down, including the folder and other ancillary equipment. Laundry experience is strongly preferred but not required. Candidates must have 5+ years of maintenance experience and own tools. Pay is $25–$30/hour depending on experience. Weekends are required due to limited support during machine breaks. The first 3–6 weeks may involve training on other shifts as needed. Resume review and in-person interview are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, boiler, compressor, and other mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and pneumatic controls; rebuild pumps, valves, and regulators; and understand steam systems.
  • Work safely with 480-volt electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret schematic diagrams and utilize a variety of testing equipment for troubleshooting to the board level.
  • Assist production staff when equipment is down and ensure smooth operation of all systems.

Additional Requirements:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • Possess basic tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.); specialty tools provided by the company.
  • Minimum 1 year of industrial/commercial maintenance experience.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Stationary engineering license
  • Accredited certificates from industrial maintenance or electrical trade schools
  • OSHA training certificate
  • Machinist certificate

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The production department is a commercial laundry warehouse/plant that is not climate-controlled and operates seven days a week. Flexibility to work weekends and major holidays is necessary. Must be able to perform tasks requiring pulling, pushing, bending, twisting, standing/walking for extended periods, reaching above head and with hands and arms, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, and close and long-distance vision. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and carry tools as needed.
