Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder - TIG to join our small family business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in TIG welding using stainless and Nibral. (Experience with Nibral preferred)

Candidates should have a can do attitude, and work well with others. Candidates also need a solid understanding of mechanical systems, power tools, and safety protocols on construction sites or manufacturing environments.

Duties

  • Perform TIG welding on various metals, (welding boat propellers, underwater gear, etc)
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as plasma cutters, etc. for fabrication tasks
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding procedures
  • Fabricate components by cutting, bending, and assembling materials according to project requirements
  • Measure dimensions accurately using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure quality standards are met
  • Follow safety protocols related to welding, machining, rigging
  • Assist in the setup of welding stations and maintain a clean work environment
  • Collaborate with team members on complex fabrication projects involving ductwork, structural steel, or mechanical assemblies
  • Ability to order necessary materials

Requirements

  • Proven experience in TIG welding
  • manufacturing and/or machine shop background is highly desirable
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
  • Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for welding and fabrication projects
  • Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, machining, soldering, and assembly processes
  • Experience operating power tools such as press brakes, plasma cutters, forklifts, and other fabrication equipment
  • Strong understanding of rigging procedures and crane safety protocols
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid certifications in welding (preferably TIG) are a plus; relevant certifications in construction or manufacturing are advantageous
