Role Description The Bookkeeping and Basic Accounting Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, CA. This specialist will manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling bank and credit card accounts. The role involves preparing and processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, tracking expenses, and assisting with payroll support and basic tax-related documentation. The specialist will generate routine financial reports, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and help ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. This position will also collaborate with internal teams and management to provide accurate financial information for decision-making and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong bookkeeping and basic accounting skills, including general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation, and management of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Proficiency with accounting and office software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar tools, spreadsheet applications, and basic ERP or accounting systems).
- Solid analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work professionally with internal stakeholders and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in an on-site, fast-paced environment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with U.S. GAAP, basic tax concepts, and prior experience in an outsourcing, BPO, or multi-client environment is a plus.
