Key Account Manager – Ford / Stellantis / Tesla

Automotive Lighting & Electronics | Detroit Metro (Northville, MI)

About the Company

Our client is a globally recognized Tier 1 automotive supplier specializing in advanced lighting and electronics solutions for leading vehicle manufacturers. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to drive strategic customer relationships with Ford, Stellantis and Tesla across North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow strategic OEM customer relationships with Ford, Stellantis and Tesla.
  • Develop and execute account strategies to increase revenue and expand business opportunities.
  • Identify new programs, RFQs and business development opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary commercial interface between customers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Build strong relationships with Purchasing, Engineering, Program Management and Executive stakeholders.
  • Present new technologies and product solutions to customers.
  • Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, contracts and long-term agreements.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and ensure successful execution throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, pricing strategies and revenue plans.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive activities to identify growth opportunities.
  • Support internal teams during product launches and ongoing production programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Key Account Management, Sales or Business Development experience within the automotive industry.
  • Experience working directly with Automotive OEMs (Ford, Stellantis, Tesla or GM preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Tier 1 supplier environments and automotive development processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex automotive products.
  • Experience with SAP or CRM systems is considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel throughout North America (approximately 30–50%).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
