Role Description
The Optometric Receptionist/Assistant is a full-time, on-site role located in Anaheim, CA. This position is responsible for greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient check-in and check-out. Daily tasks include verifying and updating patient information, handling basic clerical duties, processing payments, and maintaining organized records. The role also supports the optometrist with preparing exam rooms, assisting with patient flow, and coordinating follow-up visits.
The Optometric Receptionist/Assistant ensures a positive patient experience through clear communication, attentive service, and efficient front-desk operations.
Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish is a must
- Preferred 2+ years of experience in the field
- Willingness to be cross trained as an optometric tech and optician
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with patients and team members.
- Experience with receptionist duties and phone etiquette, including answering calls, scheduling appointments, and managing inquiries.
- Proficient clerical skills, such as data entry, filing, handling patient records, and basic administrative tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfort with using office software and practice management systems; prior healthcare or optometry experience is a plus.
- Dependable work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn and follow clinical and office protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in medical administration or eye care is beneficial.
