As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will play a vital role in our rehabilitation team, working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive treatment to patients.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and a commitment to teamwork. As a PTA, you will assist in the design and implementation of individualized treatment plans, provide treatment sessions, and document patient progress. You will also collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and communication with patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT, according to state practice guidelines
  • Assist in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly
  • Document patient participation and progress in a timely and accurate manner, obtaining co-signatures from the PT
  • Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications, and discharges
  • Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines
  • Attend facility and rehab meetings as needed
  • Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team
  • Participate in scheduling and cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary
  • Supervise junior PTA staff members or students as needed
  • Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, facility staff, patients, and patient families
  • Provide in-service education regarding patient care and physical therapy services
  • Comply with all facility and safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and report to work on time, adhering to scheduled hours and projecting a professional image

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
  • Current license and/or registration in the state
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a rehabilitation setting
  • Ability to transfer patients, lift weights, transport patients, and perform treatment on the mat
  • Knowledge of good body mechanics and exercise during patient treatment
