Job Overview

Starbucks Barista – Target Food & Beverage team. Provide a consistent Starbucks experience for guests, ensuring food quality, safety, and accurate inventory while supporting the sales floor and drive‑up operations. Typical duties include preparing beverages, managing food and beverage processes, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by greeting, assisting, and thanking guests.
  • Deliver a consistent Starbucks experience by curating handcrafted beverages and food, following recipe cards and best‑practice standards.
  • Execute food and beverage processes such as food deliveries, replenishment, inventory accuracy, promotion signing, and storage of reserve product.
  • Maintain cleanliness, record temperature‑sensitive items, and complete all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space.
  • Support Starbucks Drive‑Up, back‑up cashier, order pick‑up, and Drive‑Up processes, ensuring digital orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Engage with guests to exceed their expectations, working collaboratively with team members and supporting other areas as needed.
  • Uphold safety and compliance by following all safety policies, reporting hazards, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Participate in required training and certifications related to quality control and compliance.
  • Assist with other duties as needed based on business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous Starbucks or food service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a welcoming and helpful attitude.
  • Strong communication ability and proficiency with technology (handheld scanners, multiple‑frequency devices).
  • Ability to resolve guest questions quickly and independently or as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow multi‑step processes.
  • Capacity to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 44 pounds, climb ladders, and work in varying temperatures and humidity.
  • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
