Sunday Kids Class Teacher (Part-Time)

St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, located at 4110 River Road in Eugene, is rebuilding its children's ministry program and looking for a warm, reliable Sunday Kids Class Teacher to lead a class for children from preschool through 5th grade.

About the Role

Each Sunday, you'll welcome children into a class for the first portion of the service, guiding them through a curriculum-based lesson, snack time, and activities before they reunite with their parents for the rest of the service. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves working with kids and wants to help grow a children's program from the ground up.

Schedule

• Sundays, arrive by 9:15am
• Class runs until approximately 10:30–10:40am

Responsibilities

• Lead a class of preschool through 5th grade students using provided curriculum
• Facilitate age-appropriate activities and lead a short lesson
• Prepare and serve a simple snack
• Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children of varying ages
• Communicate with parents/guardians as needed

Requirements

• Experience working with children, ideally in a faith-based or church setting
• Excellent references
• Must pass a background check
• Willingness to complete the Episcopal Church's required "Safe Church" training

About St. Matthew's

St. Matthew's is a parish of the Episcopal Church currently in the process of rebuilding its children's program. We're looking for someone who can provide steady, consistent programming for families as our community grows.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
