Snapshot / Role Overview

We're seeking a Sheet Metal BIM-to-Field Manager in Honolulu to bridge the gap between BIM coordination, fabrication detailing, and field installation for commercial mechanical projects.

Ensure seamless handoffs from BIM models to fabrication and field teams.

Reduce rework and field conflicts through precise coordination.

Accelerate project timelines with effective prefabrication strategies.

Improve installation quality and first-time fit rates.

Support cross-functional collaboration across VDC, shop, and field crews.

Responsibilities

Manage the full BIM-to-Fab-to-Field workflow for sheet metal scope.

Coordinate between VDC/BIM teams, fabrication shop, and field installers.

Review and approve fabrication-ready models and shop drawings.

Oversee clash detection and resolution across mechanical trades.

Support field layout using model-based coordination and point cloud data.

Track prefabrication schedules and material flow to job sites.

Troubleshoot field installation issues and provide technical solutions.

Ensure quality control from model accuracy through installed systems.

Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and foremen.

Maintain documentation and as-built updates throughout project lifecycle.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

5+ years of experience in sheet metal mechanical construction.

Deep understanding of BIM-to-Fab-to-Field operations workflow.

Strong knowledge of ductwork fabrication processes and installation methods.

Experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and coordination software.

Ability to interpret BIM models, shop drawings, and specifications.

Proven track record coordinating between office and field teams.

Nice-to-Haves:

Experience with CAMduct or Fabrication CADmep.

Background with laser scanning and field layout technology.

OSHA 30 certification.

Knowledge of SMACNA standards and duct construction guidelines.
