Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Be qualified to carry and use a firearm, with mandatory firearm proficiency.
- At least 21 years old at application and younger than 37 at the time of a conditional offer of employment, unless eligible for special law enforcement retirement provisions.
- Ability to obtain and retain Top Secret Clearance throughout your career.
- Visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 uncorrected; corrected vision must be 20/20 or better in each eye.
- Hearing loss should not exceed 25 decibels in either ear at specified frequencies.
- Pass a drug test prior to appointment and comply with random drug testing.
- Complete 13 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA, followed by 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
- Be willing to accept assignments anywhere within the U.S. and overseas.
- Males born after December 31, 1959 must certify registration with the Selective Service System or be exempt.
