About Nova
Nova Asset Management is a Houston-based multifamily real estate investment and management company. We own and manage apartment communities across Houston and are looking for a driven retail-style sales person to help prospects turn into happy residents.
If you’ve ever sold cars, cell phones, jewelry, furniture, or worked at a mall kiosk, this is the same kind of sales energy—but instead of selling a product, you’re "selling" people on their next home.
Role Overview
The Bilingual Apartment Leasing Consultant is responsible for:
- Greeting every prospect (walk-ins, phone, internet leads)
- Understanding their needs and budget
- Touring apartment homes
- Closing leases and hitting monthly sales goals
This role is ideal for someone who loves talking to people, is comfortable working toward targets and commissions, and likes seeing a direct link between their effort and their paycheck—similar to top earners in auto, furniture, wireless, and jewelry sales roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement
- Greet and qualify prospects (in person, phone, email, online leads).
- Ask questions to understand their needs: size, price range, move-in date, location preferences.
- Present available apartment homes, amenities, and community features with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Property Tours
- Conduct apartment and community tours that highlight benefits and value.
- Overcome objections about price, location, timing, and terms.
- Close leases and secure application fees and deposits.
- Lead Management & Follow-Up
- Respond quickly to leads from advertising, websites, ILS listings, and referrals.
- Maintain a follow-up system (calls, texts, emails) to keep prospects warm and move them toward a lease.
- Keep detailed notes in CRM/property management software (e.g., Yardi / other systems we use).
- Administrative & Coordination
- Assist with applications, screening, and lease paperwork.
- Coordinate with the property manager and maintenance to ensure units are ready to show.
- Help maintain a clean, welcoming leasing office and show units.
- Performance & Targets
- Work toward monthly leasing goals (new leases, renewals, occupancy).
- Understand and track your personal numbers: tours, applications, approvals, leases, closing ratio.
Requirements
- Experience
- 1+ year in a customer-facing sales or retail role:
- Car dealership, cell phone / wireless, mall kiosk, jewelry, furniture, or similar.
- Prior apartment leasing experience is a plus, but not required if you’re a strong closer.
- Bilingual : English and Spanish
- Skills & Traits
- Comfortable working in a base + commission environment where performance drives income.
- Strong communication and people skills; you enjoy talking to strangers and building rapport quickly.
- Confident in presenting options, explaining terms, and asking for the sale.
- Organized and able to manage multiple leads at once.
- Basic computer skills: email, calendars, CRM or POS-type systems.
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
What We Offer
- Base salary + commissions on new leases (and potential renewal or occupancy bonuses).
- Opportunities for advancement into Senior Leasing, Assistant Manager, or Property Manager roles for top performers.
- Training on our systems and sales approach—if you bring the energy and drive, we’ll teach you the real estate side.
