Position: Bilingual High School Front Office Receptionist (2026-2027)

Location: Denver

Bilingual High School Front Office Receptionist

The Bilingual High School Front Office Receptionist performs daily operations as the first point of contact for the Pinnacle Charter School High School building. This position provides outstanding customer service and clear communication for all students, parents, staff, and community members, and is able to communicate (verbally and in writing) in English and Spanish.

Reports to:

High School Principal

This is a non-supervisory position.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay is between $20.53 - $27.71, depending on experience. Additional benefits are outlined in more detail at the bottom of the job description.

Essential Functions

Environment:

  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, peers, and families.
  • Create a pleasant, helpful atmosphere for students, parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Promote positive relations with parents and the general public concerning the school and the district.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and materials.
  • Support teachers and administration in maintaining an educational environment

Communication:

  • Provide visitors with assistance and direct them to appropriate resources.
  • Answer the telephone, screen calls, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Respond to inquiries via email and telephone.
  • Return voicemails.
  • Interpretation for parent meetings and phone calls.
  • Written translation.
  • Respond to inquiries from students, teachers, and parents regarding absence rules and absences.
  • Receive and distribute mail/deliveries daily and manage outgoing mail.
  • Calls home for attendance, behaviors, student devices, etc.

Safety:

  • Monitor and support surveillance cameras.
  • Ensure phone lines remain as clear as possible for emergency calls.
  • Ensure main entrance security.
  • Assist with emergency protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure front desk is continually covered during posted office hours.

Administration & Documentation:

  • Maintain regular student attendance records.
  • Enter all student attendance records into Infinite Campus.
  • Admit late students, maintain records of tardiness, and issue tardy passes to students.
  • Maintain all statements regarding doctors' appointments, excused absences, etc.
  • Oversee student sign-in/sign-out process and maintain records of student absence due to appointments.
  • Manage and track electronic student-device spreadsheet for policy monitoring; keep and manage confiscated devices.

Substitute Support:

  • Check Frontline daily to ensure coverage for staff
  • Arranges for assignment and release of substitute personnel in coordination with Frontline/Kelly Services.
  • Coordinate coverage for classrooms and communicate regularly with administrators.
  • Greet substitutes and provides information concerning assignments.
  • Coordinate substitute teacher emergency lesson plans.
  • Coordinate classroom coverage with staff members if a Kelly Services substitute is not available.
  • Send internal coverage time sheets

Confidentiality:

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and legally-protected information.
  • Abides by and comply with the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) and any other legal compliance mandates related to the employee's work.

Additionally:

  • Be present and engage in Pinnacle functions and organizations to build strong relationships with students, parents, peers, and the community.
  • Maintain and deepen current educational learning on an ongoing basis.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

General Abilities, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in general office and office equipment.
  • Demonstrated success working in a busy office environment with multiple competing demands.
  • Proficiency in basic accounting and math functions (student/parent payments, batches).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Google Suite, and Adobe products
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate while appreciating the diverse background of students, parents, peers, and the community
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
