Location: Onsite — Ontario, CA (local candidates only or willing to relocate)

Position Summary

Our client, a growing food manufacturing company headquartered in Ontario, CA, is seeking a hands-on Controller/Senior Accountant with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this person will take ownership of day-to-day accounting and financial operations and serve as the in-house authority on Business Central. This is an on-site, contract-to-hire role for someone who can step in quickly. Food manufacturing or CPG experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting operations in Business Central, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee cost and inventory accounting specific to food manufacturing bills of material, standard/actual costing, lot and batch tracking, and inventory valuation.
• Prepare financial statements, management reporting, budgets, and forecasts.
• Maintain and optimize the Business Central environment, including any data work tied to prior Dynamics GP systems.
• Establish and enforce internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Partner with operations, production, and procurement.

Required Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including controller- or senior-accountant-level responsibility.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Strong grounding in manufacturing and cost accounting.
• Demonstrated ownership of full-cycle accounting and the financial close.
• Based in or near Ontario, CA and able to work onsite.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Food, beverage, CPG, or perishables manufacturing background.
• Dynamics GP experience, including GP-to-Business Central migrations (a plus).
• ERP implementation or upgrade exposure.
• CPA designation or equivalent.
