We’re seeking a versatile Mechanical Design Engineer who brings a strong blend of technical knowledge, drafting capabilities and project documentation skills to help our Australian client’s Non Process Infrastructure business . This remote role focuses on engineering administration, drafting and 3D modelling for piping, skid structures, and NPI projects in the mining sector.

Role

Support the drafting and development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for NPI utility systems (e.g., water, fuel, air, and lubrication facilities).

Utilise CAD software (AutoCAD) to produce accurate, high-quality technical 2D and 3D drawings that meet industry and safety standards.

Support NPI mining projects through all phases of the project lifecycle: Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS), Detailed Engineering Study (DES), Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and Detailed Design.

Assist in the development of robust tender packages and construction-ready documentation for mining infrastructure.

Ensure precise design continuity across all project phases to minimise redesign, avoid scope creep, and ensure constructability.

Provide high-level engineering administrative support, including executing calculations and organizing data using Microsoft Excel.

Draft, edit, and format comprehensive engineering documents and reports using Microsoft Word.

Track project changes and ensure early project assumptions align with final engineering outcomes.

Maintain accurate records in the company’s document control system, admin and document formatting in word and excel.

Ensure all designs comply with Australian Standards, WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations, and specific client site standards.
