Grade 8 ELA Teacher

Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of ELA 8 Teacher in our Middle School building for a 2026-2027 opening.

Responsibilities include

• Desire to lead and mentor students at the Middle school level
• Teaching English 8 and Preparing Students for the NYS Testing Program
• Working with the CommonLit 360 Curriculum, with freedom to make choices around what will prepare students for the NYS test and for high school
• Focus on NYS standards
• Teach both on grade level instruction and intervention periods
• Create and maintain connections and communication with students and families
• Working with grade level and department teams
• Mentor a small group of students
• Opportunities to lead school wide activities

Ideal candidates will possess New York State certification for ELA grades 7-12th. Candidates with out-of-state certification will be considered. Experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education or have completed a teacher certification program. Please fill out as much of the application as possible and add attachments as you are able. Starting salary for a NYS certified teacher in ELA with no experience is $55,000 with additional pay for past experience, and master's degree.
