Job Overview

Position: Patient Care Technician (PCT). Full‑time and PRN positions available. Shift: Day (full time); Day and Night (PRN). Departments: ICU, PCU, Rehab, Med/Surg, Med/Surg Ortho, ICU Cardiology. Location: 3100 E Fletcher Ave, Tampa, FL 33613.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Function appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and support quality standards and initiatives.
• Follow prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of protective equipment, perform handwashing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations.
• Exhibit a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assist in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Document and report all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participate in obtaining a nursing history and report abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assist in identifying patient needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent [Required]
• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required]
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]

Pay Range

$15.87 – $25.38.
