Job Summary
We're hiring Senior CNC Machinists to join a premier aerospace and defense contract manufacturer experiencing explosive growth in the Cincinnati area. In this role, you will be tackling mission-critical components on a massive scale—our smallest parts are roughly the size of a suitcase, and many are the size of boats.
Our shop floor is highly specialized and features an elite lineup of heavy-duty, large-format machinery, including Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs), Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs), large-format 5-axis mills, and massive gantry mills. You will be machining highly complex fabricated weldments, large castings, and exotic aerospace alloys where no two parts are exactly the same.
You are not expected to walk in on day one with experience running every single one of these exact machines. If you are a high-level, senior machinist with a deep mastery of machining fundamentals, G-code, and complex setups, your skills will translate. We are looking for elite problem solvers who want to elevate their craftsmanship to the highest level.
Why Join Us?
The Most Technical Shop in Town: This is the pinnacle of precision machining. If you cut your teeth here and master our state-of-the-art equipment, you can work absolutely anywhere in the industry.
Massive Scale & Complexity: The rare opportunity to challenge your skills by working on complex, 1-of-1 large-format parts for high-stakes aerospace and defense programs.
Elite Equipment: You will be working with rare, high-end machinery and controls (like Heidenhain) that you simply won't find in standard job shops.
Compensation
$34 - $48 / hr starting base pay
Unlimited overtime, guaranteed 50 hour week, make up to $140k / yr
Guaranteed 60-day review
Shift Options
1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM (M-F)
2nd Shift: 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM (M-F)
Responsibilities:
Setup & Operation: Perform highly complex, independent set-ups on massive parts. Utilize overhead cranes and heavy rigging to safely maneuver, flip, and arrange components weighing thousands of pounds.
Process Ownership: Perform autonomous prove-outs on 1-of-1 parts. Fluently read, edit, and catch programming defects in CNC programs (G-code/M-code) directly at the machine before cutting expensive materials.
Adaptability & Problem Solving: Machine complex fabricated weldments and forged castings (rather than just raw stock) where every part has slight variations, requiring intense critical thinking and on-the-fly troubleshooting.
Documentation & Specs: Read and interpret complex, multi-view blueprints (including cut and section views) and strictly apply advanced GD&T to establish datums and setups.
Materials Expertise: Machine high-value, exotic aerospace materials including Titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, and advanced composites.
Leadership & Culture: Bring a perfectionist's mindset to the floor. Maintain strict professionalism, take extreme ownership of your parts, and mentor others in a high-stakes environment.
