Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee the organization’s payroll operations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This pivotal role involves managing payroll processing, maintaining accurate employee records, and ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursements. Duties
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, or Ceridian, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and update employee records related to compensation, benefits, tax information, and employment status.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws regarding payroll and tax regulations.
- Reconcile payroll accounts with general ledger entries, including debits & credits and journal entries.
- Manage payroll tax filings and payments in accordance with current tax law requirements.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to administer benefits programs and process related data entry.
- Support audits by preparing necessary documentation related to payroll transactions and compliance.
- Monitor time & attendance systems for accuracy; resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the implementation of new payroll systems or updates to existing software platforms.
- Conduct analysis of payroll data for reporting purposes; identify areas for process improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll management with expertise in payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro.
- Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, tax law, and governmental regulations affecting payroll.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Ceridian, or similar financial management tools.
- Extensive understanding of corporate accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing skills.
- Experience in benefits administration, non-profit accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and governmental accounting is preferred.
- Excellent analysis skills coupled with strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Knowledge of time & attendance systems and payroll processing techniques.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments including Human Resources and Finance.
