Position Summary

Demonstrates commitment to the vision, core purpose/mission and goals of LRMC, modeling the values and culture. Performs repetitive tasks in maintaining an assigned area of the hospital in an orderly and sanitary condition according to established procedures and standard work. In doing so, moves light furniture, equipment and supplies in and around hospital departments and performs a variety of light housekeeping duties.

Position Responsibilities

Standard Work Duties: Environmental Services Aide

  • Actively participates in team development, achieving quality measures, and in accomplishing department goals and objectives.
  • Cleans assigned areas in order to meet daily and annual cleanliness levels of quality control inspections. Maintains a score of 92%-100%.
  • Reviews daily work assignment lists to ensure they are checked off to indicate task completion on a daily basis. Communicates to the shift supervisor immediately any assigned task not completed by end of shift.
  • Cleans and prepares Environmental Services cleaning carts and ensures closets are stocked, ready and organized for next shift.
  • Informs supervisors when leaving assigned areas and reports back when returning. Advocates work assignments are started within 10 minutes of clocking in and not discontinued prior to 10 minutes of clocking out of assigned shift.
  • Governs own responsibility for adherence to personal appearance, dress and grooming standards per departmental policy.
  • Exercises' responsibilities to seek, maintain and increase own knowledge, skills and abilities and to apply information from all appropriate resources (department meetings, in-services, meeting minutes, hospital communications, standard work, protocols, policies, procedures, bed tracking, etc. so that duties and responsibilities are satisfactorily performed in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

Acts to protect tool, supply & equipment resources by safe, careful & appropriate use and handling of such items; follows Personal Protective Equipment protocols.

Competencies & Skills

Essential

  • Ability to comprehend and follow oral and/or written instructions. Interpersonal skills must be excellent.

Nonessential:

Previous customer service experience or evidenced skills.

Other information:

Experience Essential: 1-2 years previous Environmental Services experiences and/or equivalent.

Experience Preferred: 1-2 years previous Environmental Services hospital experience
