Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Maintenance / Technician to join our team at Gonzalez Food Products. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our processing equipment, machinery, and facilities. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can work independently, think critically and keep our production lines running efficiently

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all food processing equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures and issues, utilizing technical expertise and mechanical aptitude
• Conduct routine inspections and assessments of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and prevent failures
• Collaborate with production team members to identify and resolve equipment-related issues that impact production
• Maintain accurate service records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance processes and procedures
• May be required to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance or similar role
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or degree in a related field a plus
