In this role, you will operate tractor-trailers equipped with manual transmissions, transporting a variety of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other freight. Your expertise in route driving, load & unload procedures, and safety compliance will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety. Duties

  • Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Transport diverse freight types such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks efficiently and securely.
  • Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
  • Plan optimal routes to ensure timely deliveries while managing driving hours in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch to receive instructions, report issues, and confirm delivery details.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records for compliance purposes.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on long-haul routes and route driving.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating trucks with manual transmissions and handling various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
  • Prior delivery driver experience involving freight load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols related to trucking operations, including load securement and vehicle inspections.
  • Knowledge of federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations governing commercial driving hours and safety standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $0.60 - $0.70 per mile
