Job Skout — Support

Need a hand with the Job Skout web app or browser extension? Start with the common questions below — most issues are a quick fix.

The extension isn't filling fields

• Make sure you're signed in on jobskout.com — the extension uses that session, there's no separate login.
• Open the side panel and check the list: fields shown as “missing” aren't in your profile yet. Add them in Overview on the web app.
• Edited your profile? Open the extension's side panel once to refresh its copy of your data, then reload the application page.
• Some forms hide fields until you scroll or expand a section — Job Skout scans what's on the page, so reveal the section and it re-scans.

Sensitive (EEO / demographic) questions aren't auto-filled

That's intentional. Job Skout never auto-answers gender, race, veteran, or disability questions. It shows your saved answer with a “Use this answer” button so you confirm each one yourself.

Cover letters and AI answers

These are Job Skout Pro features. On the free plan you'll see an upgrade prompt; upgrade in the web app to generate cover letters and AI answers. Everything the AI writes is editable before you use it.

Nothing is ever submitted for you

Job Skout only fills fields. You always review the application and click Submit yourself.

Privacy & data

See the extension privacy policy. Your profile and session live on your device and in your own account; page content is matched locally and never sold, shared, or tracked.

Removing the extension

Right-click the Job Skout icon → Remove from Chrome. That deletes all locally stored data. Your account and profile remain on jobskout.com and can be deleted there.
